This project engages ideas of legacy and time. The project is situated along the Salmon River near Otis, Oregon. The swelling seasonal river, eroding basalt banks and ever-expanding old-growth forests shape a site in constant flux. The program of the project is also subject to a major shift. Its first life as a residential home for aging retirees gives way to a second life as a natural interpretive centre after their passing.
