This project responds to its northern 108 Mile House site by using readily available materials and minimizing the need for specialized labour. The building is sited to minimize the removal of trees, while the program responds to the existing topography of the site to reduce the amount of regrading required. The topography allows for a breezeway passes under mid-building, creating an intentional procession for visitors. The structure is defined by a volumetric roof form that wraps around the building, supported by a lightly articulated repetition of trusses that are easy to assemble on site using standard dimensional lumber and local labour, a reflection of the traditional Secwepemc pithouse.

Drawings and model own individual work.
